Shoulder of Mutton - 10.75 Miles - Seven Stiles
On the spur of the moment we decided to ascend to the Shoulder of Mutton via the Poet's Stone - a steeper walk (with steps in places) than our normal route but with some lovely views on the way up. We also extended the walk by visiting The Harrow, which is sadly still closed, though they were selling lots of plants and flowers for charity.
We had breakfast sitting on a bench near the trig point at Cobbett's view - a lovely warm day with beautiful clouds.
We were greatly dismayed to see that several stiles had been added - apparently to deter cyclists from using footpaths, but bad for my knees! This has caused me to add a new record to the walk: the number of stiles! This walk now hosts SEVEN stiles!

| I've never noticed the structure that links these buildings - I wonder what's in there? |
|
I also wonder what is being sprayed on the crops! |

| We don't often see rabbits - they are animals of dawn and dusk but there were plenty in a meadow in Sheet |
